Kimberly Heller, M.D.
Dr. Heller was born in Norfolk, Virginia and is the proud daughter of a Navy pilot and a registered nurse. She came to San Antonio in 1978 to attend Trinity University. Dr. Heller graduated medical school from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1985, then stayed to complete her residency in Family Medicine. After becoming board certified in Family Practice, she entered private practice and has been a principal with Jefferson Family Practice since 1988. Dr. Heller is an adjunct professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Medical School and participates in the Texas Statewide Family Practice Preceptor Program mentoring medical students. Dr. Heller is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Medical Association, and the Bexar County Medical Society. She loves her practice and her family. Dr. Heller has been married since 1982 and has five children (three adopted from Russia). She also serves on the Board of Directors of Russia Family Homes, a 501(c)(3) Christian ministry that teaches life skills to graduating orphans.
Jenny Sprute, M.D.
Dr. Sprute was born into an Army family in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. After a few years of travel, her father retired from the Army in Killeen, Texas where she graduated from Ellison High School. Dr. Sprute graduated from Baylor University in 1988 and from The University of Michigan Medical School in 1994. She completed a 3-year Family Practice residency in Austin, Texas and was the Chief Resident in her last year of residency. Dr. Sprute moved to San Antonio and joined Jefferson Family Practice after completion of her residency and has been in this private practice since 1997. She is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Sprute has two daughters that have grown into wonderful God-loving women. During her years with Jefferson Family Practice, she was also the Medical Director and board member of St. PJ’s Children’s Home for several years. She was a contract physician with Vitas Hospice for nearly ten years and is the Chief of Staff at the main Methodist Hospital 2020-2021. Dr. Sprute has mentored both medical students and nurse practitioner students. She is dedicated to helping patients find ways to sustain healthy habits for disease prevention.
Alaina Hallmark, M.D.
Dr. Hallmark was born in Austin, Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1994 and graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1999, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed residency training in the Christus Santa Rosa Family Practice Residency Program where she received the Resident Scholar Award for outstanding academic performance. She is board certified in Family Medicine and joined Jefferson Family Practice in 2002. She has also served as a community preceptor for the UTMB School of Medicine in Galveston and has served in numerous officer positions for the Alamo Chapter of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Hallmark has a special interest in preventive medicine and really enjoys the "family" aspect of family medicine, having numerous families where she cares for three generations. She enjoys spending time outdoors and with her children and family.
